A woman who dreams of having short lashes.. just doesn’t exist! Donatella Versace claimed that no amount of mascara can be harmful to a woman, therefore with nonchalance she kept adding next layers of her favourite mascara.
Obviously, we don’t want to look as innovatively as she does. If you dream about long and beautiful eyelashes, they are now within your reach! Thanks to a good mascara your eyelashes can look as good as after a visit in a beauty parlour. 3D eyelashes thanks to a simple mascara? Check how (and with what) to achieve it!
3D eyelashes – how to achieve this kind of effect?
Eyelash make-up is not a piece of cake – it’s easy to exaggerate and, instead of a romantic, phenomenal look, you can create something resembling spider legs which don’t look like eyelashes at all. How to achieve a captivating effect in make-up?
- Practice makes perfect – pay attention to what mascara you buy, omit products of poor quality and dubious composition. Checking if the mascara does not contain too many controversial ingredients is a good practice.
- Mascara brush – the artist’s tool – it’s best if it’s silicone and made of evenly-spaced delicate bristles. The brush should comb your eyelashes, stylize them reaching even the smallest ones. If it’s tapered at both ends, it will facilitate the application of the formula to the entire lash line.
- ‘Rice’ trick, or more precisely, ground rice – if you want to add more volume with mascara, you can use ground rise as a natural ‘mascara primer’. Rice protein will nurture the lashes and provide them with valuable protein from which the hair is made.
This primer can be applied in two ways:
- powder your dry, clean lashes and then apply a coat of mascara
- apply the first layer of mascara and then powder the lashes before the formula dries. Then apply the second layer of mascara.
- Apply wet formula – if you want to add volume, don’t wait until the first layer of mascara dries before you apply the second one. Apply them one after another, so that the lashes are precisely coated and separated.
- Zigzag – This is one of the best techniques of applying mascara. Hold the brush as close to the lash line as possible so that you reach every single hair. Now pull the brush up and at the same time slightly move it from side to side. This way your eyelashes will be coated in mascara and well-separated.
- Micro-comb – If for some reason (usually through improperly chosen ingredients in mascara) your eyelashes stick together, reach for a special, tiny eyelash comb and gently brush your hair. It’s best if you do it when the formula is still wet – a dry formula can smudge on the eyelids. You can also replace the comb with a clean mascara brush.
- Black eyeliner – This small trick will make the whole eyelash line optically thick: before you apply mascara, use a well-sharpened black eyelash pencil and gently paint a black line on the eyelash line. Try to reach the space between the lashes to fill them with black pigment. This trick will give you eyelashes in 3D in just a moment.
Then apply mascara: the black line will make the entire eyelash line look darker and the eyelashes denser. You will achieve a similar effect by darkening the lower lash line.
